Madison, WI USA – Jan 6, 2024 – The Defender Series® Pressure Vacuum Vent (P/V Vent) has earned certification from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) under Executive Orders VR-101, VR-102, VR-104, and VR-105. As part of this transition, the following model numbers have been discontinued and will no longer be available as of March 1, 2024: DPVV, 804100901, and 804100930.
The Defender Series® Pressure/Vacuum (P/V) vents regulate the pressure at which vapor is allowed to escape from the underground storage tank and the vacuum at which outside air is allowed to enter the tank. The P/V vent’s internal rolling diaphragm delivers consistent and controlled cracking for both low leak and high-pressure conditions while the superior construction of UV-resistant materials extends the overall service life. The in-line vault provides added protection and facilitates at-grade servicing and testing. This eliminates the added expense of lift trucks as well as the potential safety concerns of conducting work at height.
Almost half of all injuries in our industry come from falls at height. Traditional systems require a lift truck for maintenance, which can create safety concerns, and is costly for station operators. By bringing the P/V vent down to grade level, the in-line vault helps prioritize safety and reduces cost.
The Defender Series® P/V vent offers versatile installation capabilities and can be installed in-line, end-of-line, or as a retrofit application. The premium construction of the internal rolling diaphragm delivers consistent and controlled cracking for both low leak and high-pressure conditions.
